John Batanne, frère de Ramuntcho Matta trop tôt disparu, a laissé derrière lui des témoignages comme des dessins datant de 1963 retrouvés par le galeriste Samy Kinge et des bandes où l'on entend le jeune homme apprendre le français avec Maurice Blanchot, romancier, critique littéraire et philosophe français.

Ces enregistrements rendent comptent de l'appréhension de John Batanne à apprendre le français qui renvoie à l'appréhension que celui-ci avait de la vie. L'album reprend cette « leçon de français » avec une partition composée par Ramuntcho Matta au piano.

Cette bande-son a été présentée au Grand Palais par le galeriste Samy Kinge dans le cadre d'une exposition collective réunissant tous les Matta à l'occasion de la foire Art Paris.
